Advantis Credit Union, Portland, Ore., reopened its 12,380-square-foot branch in Belmont on Dec. 6. The branch reopened after an extensive $2.2 million upgrade in structure and technology. Advantis hosted grand reopening festivities on Jan. 21 and 22 with drawings to win a trip to Hawaii and other prizes.
Catholic Federal Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., opened its fourth school branch at St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School in Saginaw. The branch is open Tuesday mornings for students and faculty of the school. The credit union also has school branch locations at All Saints Central High School in Bay City, St. John's Elementary School in Essexville and Nouvel Catholic Central High School in Saginaw.
Coast360 Federal Credit Union, Maite, Guam, opened the doors of a new main branch and headquarters on the island. Registered with the U.S. Green Building Council, it includes a range of green design features, such as rainwater collection tanks, native plants and building materials and preferred parking for alternative-fueled and electric vehicles. The three-story, 48,000-square-foot operations center and flagship branch is the newest of the credit union's three locations.
Members Source Credit Union, Merrillville, Ind., celebrated moving its Munster location to 306 Ridge Road, Ridgeland Plaza with an open house and ribbon cutting recently. Members Source staff and Munster Chamber of Commerce members gathered during the event for a photo.
Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, East Lansing, Mich., broke ground at the site of its new Farm Lane branch located at the corner of Farm Lane and Mount Hope on the campus of MSU. The new branch is slated to open in 2012. IBM, who is currently leasing office space at the MSUFCU Crescent branch, has plans to grow their existing staff and will be expanding to utilize the entire Crescent branch office space. Once the construction of the Farm Lane branch is complete, MSUFCU will close the Crescent branch location and transition the staff to the new Farm Lane branch.
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Kingston, N.Y., opened a storefront branch in the heart of Woodstock, N.Y. It is the credit union's 10th branch, and features 24/7 Personal Teller technology, which offers members the ability to speak face-to-face with a live teller 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including most holidays. Grand opening celebrations took place in early December and featured a prize raffle.
Navy Federal Credit Union, Vienna, Va., opened three branches recently, one in Radcliff, Ky., another in Fairfax, Va. and a third in Colonial Heights, Va. The Kentucky branch occupies 2,100 square feet and serves more than 23,000 Department of Defense personnel and their families assigned to Fort Knox. The Fairfax branch is the credit union's 19th in Northern Virginia, and provides the Washington D.C. suburb with access to all credit union services, including a financial advisor, a representative from business services and a full-service, on-site ATM. The Colonial Heights branch serves more than 18,000 Department of Defense personnel and their families assigned to Fort Lee and its four major commands.
OSU Federal Credit Union, Corvallis, Ore., relocated its Newport branch location to a location on North Coast Highway. The new location features two lanes of drive-thru service and a third lane for an ATM drive-up, three teller stations, two financial services desks and offices to accommodate real estate, business and investment needs. The staff is led by Branch Manager Patti Ferry, who has been serving Lincoln County since the initial branch opened more than seven years ago.
Richfield Bloomington Credit Union, Richfield, Minn., opened the doors of its new 16,000-square-foot branch located on Lyndale Avenue in Bloomington. The branch offers safe deposit boxes, multiple drive-up lanes with a drive-up ATM, Saturday lobby hours and the latest in banking technology. A concierge approach will replace traditional teller lines in the lobby, with members being greeted as they enter the building and helped one-on-one by a member service representative.
San Diego County Credit Union, San Diego, recently hosted a grand opening celebration at its new Kearny Mesa branch, located in the County of San Diego Operations Center. Credit Union staff welcomed hundreds of people who attended the day-long grand opening festivities, which featured complimentary refreshments and opportunities to win prizes, including a Baja Mexico cruise for two, a one-night stay and spa treatment at the La Costa Resort & Spa and a $250 Visa gift card.
St. Anne's Credit Union, Fall River, Mass., plans to open its first New Bedford office in February 2011, according to Ross R. Upton, president and CEO. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on Nov. 13 at 3057 Acushnet Avenue, future site of the credit union's new full-service location. The 3,600-square-foot branch office will feature three drive-up teller lanes and a drive-up ATM.
