Mike Long, the chief credit officer of the UW Credit Union, has been named to the Federal Reserve Board's Consumer Advisory Council.
The 30-member panel, which is made up of representatives of financial institutions and consumer groups, meets several times a year in Washington, D.C. However, it will go out of existence later this year when the Fed's consumer protection functions are transferred to the new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
Long, who was nominated by CUNA, is also executive vice president and chief operating officer of CU Campus Resources, a student loan company owned by the credit union Madison, Wisconsin-based credit union. He also serves on CUNA's Consumer Protection Subcommittee.
