Credit union volunteers who want to be trained in financial literacy to comply with the NCUA's new requirements in this area can attain the certification through NAFCU's online training offerings.

Credit union directors must become "financially literate" within six months of their appointment to a board. Those seated before Jan. 27, 2011, have until July 27 to comply.

NAFCU will also offer training at its volunteers conference and at a breakout session at its annual meeting.
