The Los Angeles-based California Bear Credit Union has tapped Vice President of Marketing/Business Development Robert York to be its new president/CEO.

With over 18 years of financial services experience, York holds a master's degree in communications from Cal State Fullerton and is a 2010 graduate of Western CUNA Management School, where he won the Charlie Clark Award as the most outstanding student in his class.

"York brings leadership, creativity and continuity to the role of president/CEO here at California Bear," said N. Greg Taylor, board chairman.

York replaces former President/CEO Jennifer Oliver, who has been named president/CEO of Redondo Beach, Calif.-based South Bay Credit Union. With more than two decades of professional credit union experience, Oliver holds an MBA and has earned a certified credit union executive designation from the CUES CEO Institute.

"Oliver brings proven results as a leader and strategist along with a unique understanding of our credit union community," said Jerry Gaines,chairman of South Bay.
