Arizona State Credit Union and Weber Marketing Group have got students rethinking financial management.
The Phoenix-based credit union teamed up with Weber Marketing Group to create the re:thinkbanking center, as a space that would resonate with students as well as university staff.
Located inside the Memorial Union at Arizona State University, the center focuses on engaging members and serving as a financial education resource rather than being a transactional facility. While there are no teller windows, members have access to a full service ATM where they can view their statements as well as make cash deposits, loan payments and account transfers.
In addition to helping address students' questions or concerns, the staff, all current or former ASU students, are active in the campus community attending various events on the ASU campus and giving away t-shirts in ASU colors, while sporting shirts with URLs for the re:thinkbanking microsite www.gocreditunionua.com/.
According to Paul Stull, senior vice president of marketing at Arizona State CU, so far the reaction to the nontraditional branch has been positive overall.
