Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, Aberdeen, Md., hosted its annual “Shred-It Day” recently. Members were encouraged to bring paper documents to one of several branch parking lots for shredding. The event spreads the message that shredding private papers with sensitive information is a fast and easy way to deter identity theft.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Bethpage, N.Y., partnered with the Greater Long Island Running Club to stage the 25th annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Ocean to Sound Relay. Celebrating a milestone 25 years on Long Island, the race attracted 1,000 runners, who navigated their way through a 50-mile scenic course stretching from the south shore to the north shore of Long Island. The charitable beneficiary of the relay is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Long Island, which is dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.
