GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner, Mass., recently announced that Sharon Henrickson has joined the GFA team as employee relations officer. Henrickson brings over 12 years of human resources experience in retail environments, with strengths in employee relations, project management, coaching, mentoring and team building. In her new role, she will be charged with managing an effective human resources program. Her responsibilities will include staffing, benefits administration, internal employee events and employee relations.
Hudson River Community Credit Union, Corinth, N.Y., announced the promotion of Cathy Straight to vice president of financial services. She formerly served as the credit union's assistant vice president of financial services. In her new position, she will oversee branch financial services with a platform staff of 21, monitor sales and service goals and insure compliance of all regulations, with the primary responsibility of identifying and communicating deposit and loan-related compliance requirements.
WEST
Security Service Federal Credit Union, Greeley, Colo., announced Laura McFadden as its assistant vice president of operations for its mountain region. McFadden previously worked for the former Norbel Credit Union in northern Colorado, which recently merged with Security Service in late July. She was employed with Norbel for nearly 10 years and has more than 17 years of experience in the credit union industry. McFadden is the current president of the Longs Peak Credit Union Chapter and is a member of the Rocky Mountain CUES council board. In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing the northern Colorado district, which includes Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Longmont and Broomfield.
MIDWEST
Guardian Credit Union, West Milwaukee, Wis., promoted Steve Heiderer to assistant vice president of internal audit and compliance. Heiderer will be responsible for overseeing all internal audit and compliance functions of the credit union. He joined the company in January 2008 as a compliance officer, having previously held positions with the Milwaukee Bar Association, Judge Christopher Foley, and The Warrior, an independent news magazine at Marquette University.
SOUTH
Belvoir Federal Credit Union, Woodbridge, Va., announced Jason Lindstrom as its new chief marketing officer. Arriving from California's largest credit union, Jason brings with him 20 years of financial services experience and strategic marketing skills that will aid him in his new position at Belvoir Federal. With his previous involvement in the community as president of a credit union league chapter and as a committee member of several community organizations, Lindstrom is looking forward to being a part of the military- and community-focused credit union.
Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union, Austin, Texas, named J. Derrick Peterson as the organization's new senior vice president/chief financial officer. Peterson brings with him over 12 years of leadership, management and financial experience. He most recently served as senior vice president/chief financial officer of Public Employees Credit Union in Austin, Texas, where he played a key role in the organization's financial performance improvements and the overall increase of employee efficiencies. Prior to his time at Public Employees Credit Union, Peterson served as chief financial officer in Littleton, Colorado for Colorado Credit Union.
Member One Federal Credit Union, Roanoke, Va., announced the promotion of Mark Hudzik as its new chief marketing officer. Hudzik has been with Member One since 1994 and previously served as vice president of the Rocky Mount location. He most recently served as the credit union's vice president of marketing and community/business development. With his operational experience, Hudzik provides great strategic insight into the effective branding and marketing of Member One's products and services. He serves in the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount, on the board of directors for the Gainsboro YMCA, and as vice president of the United Way of Franklin County. Hudzik has a bachelor's degree in business from Appalachian State University and is currently pursuing his MBA from Liberty University.
Member One has also promoted Paul Economy and Cathy Johnson to the position of senior vice president/regional manager. Economy, who is in charge of the Southwest region, became the vice president/branch manager of the Downtown Roanoke location in 1994, and for the past two years has served as a vice president/regional manager. Johnson, who is in charge of the Southeast region, became the vice president/branch manager of the Brookside location in 1996, and for the past two years she has served as a vice president/regional manager.
