UW Credit Union has launched a new service that lets its 149,000 members manage their accounts through SMS texting available on nearly any mobile phone.
Functionality includes balance checking and transfers between accounts, as well as the $1.2 billion credit union's Money Link person-to-person service.
"We've created this system so members can manage their accounts effectively, wherever they go, even if they don't have Web access," said Eric Bangerter, director of Internet services at UW Credit Union in Madison.
