Credit unions with fewer than 100 branches can sign up for a program aimed at recognizing financial institutions that expend extra effort to promote direct deposit for recipients of federal benefits.

The Go Direct Community Ambassadors Program recognizes financial institutions that take some of the following steps to encourage direct deposits: displaying banners on their websites; putting inserts in statements sent to members; distributing materials in branches; and creating an incentive program for tellers to discuss direct deposit with members.
