Michael V. Beall, president/CEO of the Maryland/District of Columbia Credit Union Association, will become president of the Missouri Credit Union Association effective Nov. 1.

Beall, who has held his current position since 2004, will be succeeding Roshara Holub, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Association Chairman Stan Moeckli told Credit Union Times that Beall's knowledge of the credit union industry and his interpersonal skills stood out during the selection process, in which 40 candidates were considered.

"He's personable and has a lot of experience at all different levels of credit unions. He connected extremely well with all the board members," said Moekli, the president/CEO of Electro Savings CU in St. Louis.

Holub said that Beall's "background of strong credit union advocacy will greatly benefit the association in addressing the legislative and regulatory issues during these difficult times.

Beall has extensive experience both at the league level and as a senior credit union manager. Before joining the Maryland league in 2000, he was executive vice president of the North Carolina Credit Union League and prior to that was general counsel of CommonWealth One FCU. In college, he was a teller and member service representative at NASA FCU. He has been one of the credit union leaders who worked on the development of the REAL Solutions project. In addition, he has international experience, having been a manager at the World Council of Credit Unions.
