Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., was honored with the Diamond Merit Award in recognition of outstanding marketing and development achievements in the credit union industry. CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council presented the award for the credit union's "Ask the Expert" segment, a news broadcast in which President/CEO Ruth Gaon teams up with radio show host Mike Blake to discuss financial concerns or questions aimed at improving financial literacy.

Boy Scouts of America, awarded the 2010 Distinguished Citizen of the Year award to Endicott N.Y.- based Visions Federal Credit Union President/CEO Frank E. Berrish. Berrish was involved with Troop 87, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth.

Tower Federal Credit Union, Laurel, Md., received the President's Award in recognition of the credit union's support and service for more than 500 members of the Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented by BWCC President/CEO Walt Townshend on behalf of the Chamber's staff and board of directors.

Bay Federal Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., was honored with the 2010 California Governor and First Lady's Medals for Service Award. The award distinguishes the credit union for outstanding community support effort and named the organization California's Small Business Volunteer Program of the Year. Bay Federal was nominated for the award by the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County for the service and donations shared by every member of the credit union's staff to over 49 local nonprofits over seven consecutive years. The awards were presented by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, First Lady Maria Shriver and Secretary Karen Baker.

CU Partner Solutions, Detroit, was presented with the Runner-Up Collaboration and Innovation Award at the National Association of Credit Union Service Organization's Annual Conference. The organization was recognized for excellence and innovation in using the collaborative model to bring a level of sustainability to the credit union industry.

Mid Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Kingston, N.Y., won the 2010 SUNY New Paltz Business Plan Competition. The winning project, which featured new packages aimed at enhancing the financial stability of college students, was awarded $2,400 from Dean of SUNY New Paltz School of Business, Hadi Salvitabar. According to Bob Michaud, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of MHV who mentored the team, the plan was designed to provide financial and literacy services to college students while supporting campus programs.

Diamond Credit Union, Pottstown, Pa., ranked in the top 10 of the Greater Reading Top Businesses in 2010. During the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry annual dinner, the Chamber awarded the credit union 9th place on the listing, making it the only financial institution in the top 10. 2010 marks the fourth consecutive year that the institution has made the list.

Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Germantown, Md., was selected as a 2010 Workplace Excellence Winner. The award, given by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, targets businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness and distinguishes the credit union as this year's best place to work in the D.C. area. 2010 is the fourth consecutive year that MAFCU has been honored with the award.

Redstone Federal Credit Union, Huntsville, Ala., was named Alabama Lender of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The credit union received the award for being first in the Loan Dollar Volume and Loan Volume category.

Carter Federal Credit Union, Springhill, La., President/CEO was named Businessman of the Year at the Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet. Gibson has led Carter Federal in a long history of steady growth. In his acceptance speech, Carter attributed his success to the credit union's employees and members.
