HAPO Community Credit Union, Richland, Wash., is working to connect soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan with their families in the U.S. Partnering with Operation Thank You, a nonprofit that donates packages overseas, the credit union donated 70 calling cards to the troops abroad-an estimated value of $1,500.

Credit Union of Georgia, Canton, Ga., supported the Cobb Schools Foundation in its efforts to provide educational reinforcement through rewards for excellence in teaching and learning in Cobb County schools. The credit union's donation, which exceeded $5,000, will help fund the foundation's programs in 2010 such as an Employee of the Year Luncheon and Project 2400, an initiative to boost student SAT scores.

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, promised bucks for baskets. Partnering with the Utah Jazz, the credit union pledged to donate $50 to Huntsman Cancer Foundation for every three-pointer made by a Jazz player during the 2009-2010 season. The total sum of the donation was brought to $21,950 when Utah ended the season with 439 three-pointers.
