The Texas Credit Union League, joined up with NCUA, began warning CUs Wednesday to make sure disaster preparation plans are firmly in place in advance of Hurricane Alex.

The storm is now posing a threat to the Texas Gulf Coast with possible landfall in Mexico tonight.

The NCUA in a special advisory warned CUs and its members "to prepare for all contingencies including the possible interruption of some operations."
