GTE Federal Credit Union in Tampa, Fla. announced that it has hired Joseph Brancucci as its new president/CEO.

Brancucci, executive vice president and chief operating officer at BECU and chairman/CEO of mortgage technology and business solution provider Prime Alliance Solutions Inc., replaces former GTE CEO Bucky Sebastian, who retired at the end of last year.

Brancucci was the founder of Prime Alliance and has been at BECU since 1995. He will remain as board chair and CEO of Prime Alliance. He is also the former chair of the CUNA Council Forum and the CUNA Lending Council. He is the chief and founder of the CU Housing Roundtable and secretary of the board of CUDL.

"Joe brings to GTE a combination of experience, passion and effective leadership that will take GTE into the future. His vision for the member and employee experience, as well as for the communities of which GTE is a part, is exciting as we position GTE to better serve our existing members and for the next generation of credit union members," said Brad Hines, GTE's board chairman.

Brancucci will assume his position at GTE in early July.
