Meriwest Credit Union, San Jose, Calif., held a jeans day to raise money to support the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The credit union team raised $1,144 for Haiti relief. Employees wore jeans and contributed $5 to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts in Haiti. Several credit union employees gave substantially more than the minimum.

Central Florida Chapter of Credit Unions, Orlando, Fla., partnered with Fairwinds Credit Union, Insight Financial Credit Union, Martin Federal Credit Union and Magnify Credit Union to make a donation of $2,250 in favor of the American Red Cross-Haiti Relief Fund.

GNO Federal Credit Union, Metairie, La., parlayed exhilaration for the home-town team-the New Orleans Saints-and heartfelt concern for the Haitian earthquake victims into an enthusiastic endeavor for both. Employees donating $15 or more to the World Council of Credit Unions Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti had the option of wearing the team colors of black and gold. Branch lobbies were decked out in Saints pendants, gold stars and balloons.
