Northern Star Credit Union, Portsmouth, Va., announced plans to hold a grand opening celebration at I.C. Norcom High School, one of two of its newest student credit unions. The credit union partnered with Portsmouth Public Schools in opening two student run credit unions located at I.C. Norcom High School and Woodrow Wilson High School. The student run credit unions are operated by a teacher supervisor and student tellers, and they serve the students as well as the school staff at both locations.
Heritage Community Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., relocated its long-standing Mather, Calif., branch to a new site in the Mills Shopping Center in Rancho Cordova. With its new, accessible location and a 24-hour drive-up ATM as well as a walk-up ATM, the new Mills Center branch will serve the Rancho Cordova community with enhanced ease and convenience.
Berrien Teachers Credit Union, Niles, Mich., held a ground breaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on its new Niles office. The new office will be located at 2018 South 11th St., Niles, Mich., just south of the credit union's current facility. It will feature 3,000-square-feet, two drive-thru lanes, a drive thru ATM and a standalone ATM providing additional convenience. Completion of the new facility is anticipated to be late spring 2010.

Credit Union Association of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, celebrated the grand opening of the Oklahoma Credit Union House with over 100 credit union professionals, volunteers and partners. The new location also will be ran by the same friendly and experienced staff that members are used to, which is sure to make the transition that much easier.
CFE Federal Credit Union Lake Mary, Fla., celebrated the grand opening of its newest student-run branch at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs. Students will be responsible for providing onsite financial services to more than 3,200 of their peers, faculty and staff members at the high school. Checking and savings accounts plus share certificates and other services will be offered at the Brantley Branch. To get all the students excited about opening a checking account, an exclusive debit card that displays the Lake Brantley crest was designed by the Academy of Finance students just for Brantley Branch members.

Tower Federal Credit Union, Laurel, Md., hosted a grand opening celebration for its new Howard County branch, in Clarksville. More than 250 local residents stopped by for on free food, prizes and met the new branch staff. The Clarksville branch is one of nine of the credit union's branches in Maryland and the third in Howard County. It branch is equipped with state-of-the-art interactive remote teller stations, a self-service coin counter and a 24-hour walk-up ATM.
Service One Credit Union, Bowling Green, Ky., held a ribbon-cutting and open house to celebrate the grand opening of a new green addition to the Campbell Lane branch location. Features of the building include reclaimed wood timbers, a geothermal heating and cooling system, large double-paned and glass block windows insulated with aerogel and a green roof system that helps control the climate in the building.
