The $2.5 billion Wings Financial Credit Union has been selected as the official credit union for the Regional Airline Association, a trade group representing 32 airlines and 280 associate members.
As part of the agreement, the Apple Valley, Minn.-based Wings Financial will enhance its promotion of its products and services to RAA member employees immediately, the CU said.
The RAA represents North American regional airlines, and the manufacturers of products and services supporting the regional airline industry before Congress, the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and other federal agencies. According to the trade group, regional airlines operate more than 50% of the nation's commercial schedule with more than 13,000 flights each day.
The RAA is the latest regional airline partnership for Wings Financial, which counts Mesaba Aviation, Pinnacle Airlines, Compass Airlines, Republic Airways and Colgan Airlines among its field of membership. The CU also has alliances with major airlines such as JetBlue Airways and AirTran Airways and has expanded its member base since obtaining a trade industry and profession charter in 2004 and converting to a state charter in 2009 to include 11 counties in Minnesota and two in Wisconsin.
