Lawmakers representing 22 states and the District of Columbia have signed up as honorary race chairs of the Cherry Blossom Run.

The 39 senators and representatives are participating in an event, which will be held on April 11, which has so far raised more than $150,000 online. Proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

"The congressional support indicates an increased affinity for the credit union industry based on greater awareness of our member-friendly practices," said David J. Selo, president/CEO of PSCU Financial Services, the event's lead corporate sponsor.

The run will take place in Washington and this is the ninth year of credit union title sponsorship. Through that sponsorship, credit unions have donated $4 million to hospitals affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network, an alliance of 170 children's hospitals.
