Residents of Oklahoma who experienced a furlough triggered by state budget cuts have a new resource to turn to through the Oklahoma Employees Credit Union.

The $314 million CU has launched www.helpingok.com, a site that contains furlough news, financial tools, a frequently asked questions section, a blog and other resources. OECU President/CEO Mark Kelly said the idea for the site came about after the cooperative did some research and found that such a resource did not exist.

Kelly said many Oklahomans have experienced furloughs and he is hoping that other organizations will become involved including offering discounts to those impacted by the state's budget cuts.
