Members of credit unions that participate in a shared branching network now have access to more than 4,000 shared branches around the nation and more than 2,000 shared branching kiosk locations.

Shared branching allows participating credit unions to offer their members branch networks that rival those of the largest nationwide banks as well as a means of making their institutions more resilient to natural disasters.

"Despite the emergence of new access channels, such as mobile banking, credit union members still want the ability to walk into a branch to handle their financial needs, and they want that branch to be convenient," said Carroll Beach, president/COO, CO-OP Shared Branching. "This milestone is a triumph of the credit union philosophy of cooperating to better serve members."
