Online account opening-the first from a statewide credit union in Arizona-is the latest offering from $1.3 billion Arizona State Credit Union.

Using technology from Rhode Island-based Andera Inc., the free application process takes less than nine minutes to complete and offers a range of accounts, including savings, checking, money market and share certificates, the credit union said.

"With the volatility in the economy, consumers are seeking out new banking relationships that provide services that more closely align with their needs. We're more than happy to be the right source for them," said David E. Doss, president and CEO of 21-branch Arizona State CU in Phoenix.
