President Obama plans to propose a salary freeze for certain presidential appointees and that could affect the salary of the three NCUA Board members and some of the eight political appointees at the agency.

Obama, who is expected to unveil his proposal to freeze the salary of 1,200 political appointees and ban the payment of bonuses to highly paid appointees in tonight’s State of the Union speech, can freeze the salaries of any of the eight political appointees at the NCUA by executive order.
