Vons Credit Union is looking to lead the green movement in El Monte, Calif., by example.
The $315 million credit union has added a solar panel system to its headquarters roof in a bid to reduce its energy consumption by 25%. Taking advantage of the Southern California Solar Initiative, which provides locals credit incentives for solar installations, Vons CU tapped Vaha Solar to install its new 60-kilowatt power supply consisting of some 280 solar panels.
