The newest entry in the core processing space for credit unions has hired a longtime Symitar veteran to help lead the platform’s development. Carl Barlow joins Corelation Inc. after 20 years at Symitar, most recently as director of software architecture, the same title he’ll hold at Corelation, the company said. His role will be to support projects and enhancements to the new KeyStone system, the company said. Barlow joins two other former Symitar colleagues at the new company, CEO John Landis and President Theresa Benavidez. Barlow will primarily work with Landis, architect of Corelation’s KeyStone core processing system, on host system development, the company said. “For me, it will be a perfect blend of the new and the familiar. Corelation has some of the most experienced and trusted names in core credit union software, now working together under one roof,” he said. San Diego-based Corelation announced its launch this past fall and has said it expects to announce its first client signing soon. Landis is the designer of the original Galaxy platform and a Symitar co-founder. Benavidez also is an original Symitar employee who later held senior positions with XP Systems and USERS Inc. Benavidez said, “All the pieces of the puzzle are coming together in laying a foundation for success. This is a dream that keeps getting better and better, and it is a wonderful way to start the New Year for our company.”
