Local farmers can now look to Yolo Federal Credit Union for help.

The Woodlands, Calif.-based credit union has become an approved lender for the Farm Service Agency Guaranteed Loan Program.

The FSA was created in 1935, with the purpose of assisting and protecting the interests of farms across the nation.

With the approval from the United States Department of Agriculture, Yolo FCU can now provide agricultural credit to farmers and ranchers throughout Yolo County to be used for both farm ownership and operating purposes.

"Yolo County has strong roots in agriculture and farming," said Yolo FCU Vice President Brenda Price. "As a locally based credit union, we are excited about the opportunities this new partnership provides to our members."
