Whittaker will be responsible for originating residential loans in St. Mary's Milford office and the surrounding area. Prior to joining the credit union, Whittaker worked for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Prudential Insurance and Financial Services. He has eight years of experience in the financial services industry.

FAIRWINDS Credit Union, Orlando, Fla., announced that President/CEO Larry Tobin was recognized by The Orlando Business Journal as one of the most influential businessmen in central Florida. Representing the banking and finance category, Tobin was selected from a distinguished group of nominees in the industry. Tobin began his career at FAIRWINDS in 1981 as a part-time teller.
Community First Credit Union of Florida, Jacksonville, Fla., named 10 First Coast residents to its new community advisory council. Those named to the council were Jon Cantrell, Elvia Williams, Laura Gutteridge, Angela Pracher, Marcus Haile, Jorina Jolly, Malinda Prudencio, Kristen Majdanics, Jacquelyn Johnson and Paki Taylor.
Members Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., announced that Bob Donley, executive vice president of administration and lending, was appointed to serve on the North Carolina Credit Union Commission by Gov. Beverly Perdue. Donley will carry out a four-year term as part of a seven-member commission that oversees all state-chartered credit unions. The credit union also announced that Jack V. Braswell Jr., president/CEO, celebrated his 30th anniversary with the credit union industry. Braswell joined the credit union in 1979, as treasurer, and was promoted to president/CEO in 1991. A member of the credit union's board of directors for 30 years, he also has served on several credit union industry boards and committees during his career.

Members Cooperative Credit Union, Duluth, Minn., announced that Joanna Carlson joined the credit union as its marketing manager. She will be responsible for marketing, advertising, events and public relations activities. Carlson's previously experience includes being employed as a marketing manager by a Denver-based media publisher of national financial magazines and working in marketing for National Bank of Commerce.
Credit Union Executives Society, Madison, Wis., elected its board officers for 2009-2010. Dale F. Schumacher, president/CEO of Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union, was named chairman. Frederick D. Healey, president/CEO of Worker's Credit Union, was named vice chairman and chairman-elect. Lary B. McCants, president/CEO of IBM Southeast Employee's Federal Credit Union, was named treasurer. Teresa Y. Freeborn, president/CEO of Xceed Financial Credit Union, was named secretary.
Summit Credit Union, Madison, Wis., announced that Nancy Kalsow, chief operations officer, celebrated 25 years with the credit union. Kalsow began her tenure at the credit union in 1984 as a phone receptionist. She started the credit union's first call center in 1991 and after leading it for 10 years, became vice president of branch operations in 2001. She was named chief operations officer in 2007. Kalsow currently oversees training and organizational development, information technology and Internet services departments, as well as the contact center.

The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced the naming of Sam George to branch manager of the Shaw office. George has served in a management capacity for over 25 years and has spent the last seven years serving as a branch manager for a large financial institution. He holds bachelor of science degrees in marketing and computer information systems from California State University, Stanislaus.
