The $4.8 billion San Diego County Credit Union has extended its title sponsorship of the Poinsettia Bowl through 2010, with options for 2011 and 2012.

While many California credit unions struggle, San Diego County Credit Union is posting strong 2009 numbers, reporting a $54.7 million net income and 1.57% ROA as of Sept. 30.

The 2009 game will be played on Dec. 23 and will feature a team from the Mountain West Conference against a member of the Pacific-10 Athletic Conference or Western Athletic Conference opponent. It will be broadcast on ESPN.

The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl donates $1 for every ticket sold to the San Diego Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"We are excited to extend our title sponsorship of the Poinsettia Bowl," said CEO Irene Oberbauer. "We are committed to the success of this great event and proud to continue the partnership with the game's beneficiary, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego."

The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl is produced by the nonprofit San Diego Bowl Game Association, which also produces the annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
