Celebrating its 40th anniversary, UT Federal Credit Union is also marking the launch of a new investment and insurance division and its homecoming on the University of Tennessee's campus.
Through a partnership with LPL Financial Services, the $170 million credit union now offers members financial planning strategies, mutual funds, annuities, individual stocks, and life, accident, disability, and long-term care insurance. Derek Dieterich, a certified financial planner with LPL, will serve members through the newly-launched UTFCU Financial Services.
The Knoxville, Tenn.-based credit union has also opened its eighth branch on the University of Tennessee-Knoxville campus. Although UTFCU was originally located on campus in a house on Andy Holt Avenue, the credit union said it moved several times in the early years, and finally outgrew accommodations in the early 1990s. Today, with more than 70 employees and more than 25,000 members, the corporate office and main branch of UTFCU occupies a three-story building, which was completed in 2006 and is located just off campus.
