Service Credit Union, Portmouth, N.H., announced that its President/CEO Gordon A. Simmons was re-elected as chairman of the Defense Credit Union Council for the 2009-2010 term. Simmons has served as chairman for the past two years and from 2000-2002. Simmons has more than 38 years of experience with credit unions and 34 years of service with Service Credit Union.

Workers' Credit Union, Fitchburg, Mass., announced that is has hired Janice P. Dokla as assistant vice president and branch manager for its Water Tower Plaza branch. Dokla was a group and regional manager for TD Banknorth and most recently managed its Keene, N.H., office.

Previously, he served as president/CEO for Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, N.M., and was an executive vice president as Eastern Financial Federal Credit Union in Miami.

Harborone Credit Union, Brockton, Mass., announced that it has named Patrick Neenan senior mortgage officer. Previously, Neenan served as mortgage processing officer. Neenan is responsible for reviewing and approving conventional, FHA and MassHousing mortgage loans and implementing regulations.

Vermont Federal Credit Union, St. Albans, Vt., announced the hiring of Brian Irish as a branch manager. Irish has more than 13 years of financial service experience. He was a district manager for CitiFinancial for several years and has lending background of reviewing and approving mortgage loans, unsecured loans and auto loans.

SOUTH

CFE Federal Credit Union, Lake Mary, Fla., announced the promotion of Shirley A. Shoemaker to vice president of branch operations. Shoemaker will be responsible for the direction and supervision of CFE's 16 full-service branches. Previously, Shoemaker was director of operations and oversaw CFE's student-run branches. For the past 16 years, Shoemaker has held various management positions. She started at the credit union 22 years ago as a teller at the Weber branch. Maria Rigney-McKelson was also promoted to director 1, training and development. In this position, Rigney-McKelson will direct all design and implementation of training and initiatives for the credit union as well as the training of the high school students for the credit union's student-run branches. Rigney-McKelson joined CFE in July 2008 as assistant training manager.

Insight Financial Credit Union, Orlando, Fla., announced that Kimberly Orsolits has been hired as the new director of human resources. Orsolits brings 20 years of human resource management experience to Insight Financial.

1st Advantage Federal Credit Union, Yorktown, Va., announced that it has hired Ellen Womble as a mortgage specialist. Womble has more than a decade of banking and mortgage experience. She active in the Kiwanis of Gloucester, Chamber of Commerce and Gloucester School Parent Associations.

MIDWEST

Heritage Credit Union, Madison, Wis., announced that is has hired Renee Howse as a loan officer. Howse has worked in the financial services industry for nine years. At Heritage, Howse will work with members to open loans and make sure the credit union meets its financial goals.

WEST

Xceed Financial Credit Union, El Segundo, Calif., announced that is has hired Daniel Saenz as manager for its new financial center. Saenz has more than nine years of experience working for Wells Fargo Bank and for Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union. Most recently, Saenz was the assistant banking center manager at Comerica Bank.

Sea West Coast Guard Federal Credit Union, Oakland, Calif., announced that its CEO Frank Matous is retiring after 15 years. Matous has held CEO positions at three different credit unions. He served as CEO of Pontiac Teachers Credit Union for 18 years and as CEO of American River Federal Credit Union. He served as the director of the Credit Union Executives Society from 1972 to 1981 and served as the chairman of the board for the past two years.
