After 81 years of being identified with a niche group, Atlanta City Employees Credit Union has changed its name to Credit Union of Atlanta to reflect its growing diverse membership.

The $53 million credit union was chartered in 1928 by city of Atlanta employees. Over the years, its FOM has grown to include various business, associations and communities throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area.

CUA said it plans to celebrate it new name and logo with its membership throughout November. A grand celebration is scheduled to take place in conjunction with opening its new branch scheduled for January 2010. The credit union serves more than 14,000 members.
