MaPS Credit Union, Salem Ore., awarded $11,000 in scholarships to 10 Marion and Polk county students. The credit union, who introduced two new scholarships this year, awarded two $1,000 annual scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to pursue business, finance or related studies in college. One student also received a $500 scholarship. In addition to their new programs, the credit union presented seven other awards, three MaPS scholarships of $1,000, one business partner scholarship of $2,000 and three scholarships in the third annual Earl Littrell scholarship program totaling $3,500.

Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., announced 15 recipients of its Weidner Davis scholarships, bringing the total in scholarship dollars awarded to college-bound students this year to $50,000. The credit union also awarded Peter Mans with its Art Goedeke memorial scholarship for $2,000. The credit union also announced three winners of the Harold Horning scholarship for children of employees. During 2009, the credit union also gave four $1,000 scholarships for distribution by the Business and Marketing Education Association, South Colonie Dollars for Scholars, Bethlehem High School and Cohoes High School.
