Indiana Members Credit Union is hoping its new partnership with the National Basketball Association’s Indiana Pacers will be an awareness slam dunk. The $1.2 billion credit union will be an official sponsor of the Indiana Pacers’ 2009-2010 season.According to IMCU Director of Business Development Jennifer Newby, the timing couldn’t have been better.“We started looking into a partnership mid-summer and a few of our executives have had contacts with the Pacer organization for many years, so we were able to start a conversation about what opportunities were available,” said Newby. “Besides being big Pacers fans, we wanted to support and partner with another hometown local organization that does great things in the community.”The sponsorship agreement includes player appearances, a Pacers debit card, courtside signs, radio spots, hospitality and use of the Conseco Fieldhouse practice court for community relations initiatives.“Like the Pacers, IMCU is a local organization committed to the community and supporting the Pacers reinforces that commitment,” said IMCU CEO Ron Collier. “We are excited to begin our new relationship and are thrilled to host public appearances throughout our community, which will provide an opportunity to bring the team to its fans and our members.”Newby says the sponsorship also provides a unique opportunity to get the IMCU name out to new potential members among Pacers fans.“Indiana is a big basketball state and while this will help in terms of publicity for the credit union and building awareness, this partnership is also about providing some extra benefits to our members,” said Newby.–[email protected]
