Navigant Credit Union, Smithfield. R.I., announced the hiring of three new employees. Kathleen Orovitz was hired as senior vice president retail banking. Orovitz was most recently vice president, retail sales and incentives at Sovereign Bank. Kenneth Senus was hired as senior vice president information technology. Senus was most recently senior vice president and director of IT and operations for Bank Rhode Island. Karen Balch was hired as branch manager for the Greenville branch. Balch most recently worked at Citizens Bank.
TruMark Financial Credit Union, Trevose, Pa., announced the promotion of Bernard Fisher to vice president, mortgage originations. Previous, Fisher was senior mortgage underwriter and broker loan officer. Fisher has 25 years of experience in the residential lending industry ranging from loan origination through closing, including retail and wholesale lending.
Coventry Credit Union, Coventry, R.I., announced the promotion of three employees. Dorothy Pagliarini was promoted to vice president of collection from collections manager/supervisor. Pagliarini has over 22 years of experience in collections management. Shelly Peckham-Berardinelli was promoted to vice president of marketing from marketing specialist. Peckham-Berardinelli has 15 years of experience. Richard Walker was promoted to chief financial officer from controller. Walker has more than 18 years of experience.

GTE Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced the hiring of Shamus A. McConomy as director of business services. McConomy has over 15 years of financial services experience. Prior to coming to GTE, McConomy was vice president with the Bank of Tampa. Previously, he was an assistant vice president and relationship manager at SunTrust Bank.
floridacentral Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced that it has appointed a new president/CEO. Laida Garcia is the new president/CEO. She served as the credit union's executive vice president for eight years and succeeds Ed Gallagly who passed away in March. Garcia served as acting CEO during Gallagly's medical leave due to his battle with liver cancer. Garcia has 30 years of experience in the credit union industry. She serves on the board of directors at CUNA, is board treasurer of the National Credit Union Foundation and serves on several committees for both organizations.
Texell Federal Credit Union, Temple, Texas, announced the promotion of Taylor Mungia to assistant branch manager. Mungia has worked at Texell as a teller since 2004. Mungia has worked in every branch at Texell and transitioned to a full-time employee when the credit union need him at its Belton office.

Elevations Credit Union, Boulder, Colo., announced that Jeffrey C. Elinsky has joined the credit union as a financial adviser though the CUSO Financial Services LP. Elinksy has worked in the financial services industry since 1998. He has served as a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. The credit union also announced that Vice President of Information Technology Matthew Henry was selected to join the Filene Research Institute's i3 program.
Redwood Credit Union, San Rafael, Calif., announced that Sal Medina was named to the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Marin. Medina is the branch manager of the 209 Third Street branch. He has been actively involved with the chamber for the past year. Medina has been asked to chair a chamber committee that will work to unite financial services professionals to create financial literacy events and programs. Medina has worked at Redwood since 2008.
Numerica Credit Union, Spokane, Wash., announced the hiring of Keith Connolly as assistant vice president of branch administration and sales. Connolly has nine years of management experience in the financial industry, five of which were at credit unions. He is a certified credit union executive, certified financial services professional and certified lending specialist from CUNA.
