Tech Credit Union was recently approved by the Indiana State Board of Finance to allow state and local governments to deposit public funds with the financial institution.

The Public Deposit Insurance Fund insures all public monies in Indiana's financial institutions, according to the fund. As of Aug. 7, approximately 200 financial institutions including 13 credit unions were approved depositories.

The $266 million Tech CU in Crown Point, Ind. serves more than 45,000 members.
