The board of the largest immigrant credit union in the country is once again embroiled in controversy.
The normally eleven member board of directors of the $1.23 billion credit union has been under an order from NCUA to reinstate a previously ousted board member "immediately" since January, but has yet to do so and has received a sterner demand from the agency this month.
Members have also raised questions about the conduct of the credit unions current elections, noting that one sitting board member was mysteriously not re-nominated for the board. Further, the members noted that the credit union's tellers have begun handing out flyers that suggest credit union members who vote for the candidates the CU supports will be eligible to win prizes.
