Saying that credit unions "exemplify the American values of thrift, self-help, and volunteerism," the House today passed by voice vote a resolution commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the enactment of the Federal Credit Union Act.

The resolution, offered by Reps. Jim Himes, Rick Larson, and Paul Kanjorsk, said that "credit unions continue to provide valuable services to their members, financial alternatives for the underserved, and economic stimulus to our nation even as we face a financial crisis today."

All three lawmakers are Democrats and are from Connecticut, Washington, and Pennsylvania, respectfully.
