WOCCU is holding its annual conference in Barcelona along with Banco Cooperativo Espanol and Union Nacional de Cooperativas de Credito. 1,054 delegates are coming from 62 countries. The top five: United States, 225; Canada, 178; Ireland, 124; Australia, 67 and Brazil, 54.

Some places one would not think of as having credit unions include Uzbekistan, beleaguered Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Seychelles. Their representatives are travelling from half way around the world to participate.
