Credit union employees interested in learning about how to comply with the recently enacted measure revamping credit card rules can register for NAFCU's July 15 webcast on the subject.

Obrea O. Poindexter, of counsel at Morrison & Foerster LLP in Washington, and Oliver Ireland, partner at Morrison & Foerster, will offer their expertise on how the Credit CARD Act will impact credit card fee limitations; application of payments to credit card balances; bill payment remittance time for cardholders; who can receive a solicitation for a credit card; limitations on gift cards and other prepaid cards; and when and how a card company can raise an individual's interest rate, fees and finance charge.

The measure increases the requirements of rules previously issued by the Federal Reserve Board and other agencies. Compliance deadlines vary, beginning Aug. 20, 2009, and going as late as Aug. 22, 2010.
