Going green has never been easier for FAA Credit Union members. The credit union has been providing “go green” starter kits to new members as a way to show how FAA CU is dedicated to making a difference one member at a time. The kit includes a reusable grocery tote, two CFL light bulbs, an individual water bottle filter and a water bottle. Existing members who refer friends and family can save some green as they are entered to win a full year of free electricity. The move is designed to help build awareness that small green steps can still make big environmental impacts not only in members’ lives but also in the local community. “When you consider we had more than 3,000 new members join last year, this project could really have a big impact. If each of those members replaced just one traditional bulb with a CFL light bulb in their home, it would be the equivalent of taking 35 vehicles off the road or would save enough electricity to power 40 homes,” said FAA CU President/CEO Steve Rasmussen.
