Symitar has picked the core technology provider for its "virtual" users conference in August.

The Aug. 26-27 conference will use the VirtualEvents365 platform from Computer Generated Solutions Inc. for the framework for the core processor's 2009 Educational Conference & Technology Expo.

Symitar had said earlier this year it would hold a "virtual" conference so representatives of its more than 600 credit union clients wouldn't have to miss it because of budget restrictions.

New York-based CGS's VirtualEvents365 provides a Web-based environment that enables organizations to plan, promote, deliver, track and monetize a variety of events virtually, including user meetings, conferences, job fairs, product launches and training programs, the company said.

John San Filippo, Symitar marketing manager, said, "We knew going into this that the key to success was finding the right virtual event platform."

Educational sessions, social networking opportunities and an exhibit hall for vendors will all be part of the 2009 cyber-expo.
