In its bid to reach out to younger members, GTE Federal Credit Union has come out swinging, tapping Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays third-baseman Evan Longoria as its U22 spokesperson.
U22 is the credit union's new account for members between the ages of 12 and 22. The new program is designed to give teenagers and young adults financial freedom while still allowing parents to monitor their child's account activity.
Longoria recently participated in a photo shoot at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg to promote the U22 debit card and has recorded 30-second U22 radio spots set to air during the Rays home games. In addition, those who sign up for a U22 account by Sept. 5 will receive two Tampa Bay Rays tickets and a chance to meet Longoria before the game.
