In an effort to encourage more warehouse and manufacturing companies to move to Iowa, Collins Community Credit Union is involved a $1.3 million project to make it happen.

The Iowa Transportation Commission recently approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy local development grant to extend an avenue in Marion, Iowa to Marion Enterprise Park, a 184-acre space set up to accommodate an additional 2.3 million square feet of commercial and industrial buildings.

The $488 million Collins Community CU in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United Security Savings Bank, Hills Bank, Farmer State Bank, and U.S. Bank are participating in the financing to extend the avenue, according to the Marion Economic Development Co.

So far, Marion city officials are talking to wind power component manufacturers and those dislocated by Iowa's floods about purchasing sites within the Marion Enterprise Park. Nearly a dozen Danish wind power component manufacturers are scheduled to tour the site in May.
