DuPont Goodrich Federal Credit Union, Nederland, Texas, recently devised a way to offer all high school and college students an opportunity to earn scholarship money. Students between the ages of 15 to 24 can earn cash for college or any accredited institution of higher learning through the credit union's new DuGood scholarship rewards program.Meriwest Credit Union, San Jose, Calif., announced the winners of the 2008 high school essay competition. The yearly competition is intended to encourage high school students in grades 9-12 who are preparing to carry on their educational aspirations to the next level.Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union, Clinton Township, Mich., recently awarded 76 mini-grants worth more than $18,000 to assist educators in Macomb and Oakland Counties with classroom projects. These beneficiaries have established a passionate commitment to educating the youth.

100% for Kids Credit Union Education Foundation, Salt Lake City, recently awarded an educational grant to Eisenhower Junior High School to aid with classroom learning. During the presentation, $1,000 of the $2,627 grant was presented by Deseret First Credit Union.

Consumers Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., announced that this spring the credit union will award five student scholarships. The scholarships will allow recipients to use the awards towards college tuition and other related expenses.Members Advantage Credit Union, Michigan City, Mich., recently announced it is offering a $1,000 Leona Bruno scholarship to high school seniors who are members of the credit union. The scholarship is issued on the basis of academic achievement, personal integrity and active participation in and service to the candidate's school and community.University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union, Lexington, Ky., once again donated $15,000 in scholarship money. Three separate institutions of higher learning located in the state of Kentucky were each awarded of $5,000 to be made available to students who qualify.
