Students between the ages of 15 to 24 can earn cash for college or any accredited institution of higher learning through the credit union's new DuGood scholarship rewards program.Meriwest Credit Union, San Jose, Calif., announced the winners of the 2008 high school essay competition. The yearly competition is intended to encourage high school students in grades 9-12 who are preparing to carry on their educational aspirations to the next level.Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union, Clinton Township, Mich., recently awarded 76 mini-grants worth more than $18,000 to assist educators in Macomb and Oakland Counties with classroom projects. These beneficiaries have established a passionate commitment to educating the youth.

Three separate institutions of higher learning located in the state of Kentucky were each awarded of $5,000 to be made available to students who qualify.
