The NCUA is going to court. The basketball court.

The agency is launching a multimedia ad campaign on the safety of credit union deposits during this weekend's NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments that are airing on CBS.

The NCUA is launching a 10-week video campaign featuring nationally-known personal finance expert Jane Bryant Quinn in a 30-second television advertisement.

"A lot of people worry about their money today, but you don't have to worry about your credit union account," Quinn says. She suggests people look for the sign at a credit union saying that funds there are federally insured because "it means you can sleep tonight."

The commercial, which touts the safety and security of federally insured credit union funds, is being aired on CBS TV stations in the major media markets of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.

It will be aired during the NCAA tournament, Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood and Face the Nation. From April 30 through May 29, the NCUA-Quinn commercial will appear on the CBS early morning news between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday.

From June 1 through August 31, local transit buses in nine major metropolitan areas in Arizona, California, Florida and the District of Columbia will have 26 X 10 ads saying that credit union accounts are insured up to $250,000.
