Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., matched the contributions of its members for fuel assistance. The donations went towards the New Hampshire Fuel Assistance Community Action Agencies, which distributed funds to those who have had a problem maintaining the ability to keep their homes heated in the cold of winter.Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Lowell, Mass., hosted a silent auction at the grand opening of their new Dracut branch. The Joann Weber Charitable Foundation was selected as the recipient of the fundraiser. Contributions were distributed by the Weber family to charitable organizations throughout the greater Lowell community.WESCOM Credit Union, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., held a fundraiser for the benefit of the Children’s Hospitals of Los Angeles. Matching funds were contributed by CO-OP Financial Services via their miracle match program.AmeriCU Credit Union, Rome, N.Y., presented a check to the Utica Zoo for the purchase of recycling bins. Representatives from AmeriCU have also dispersed thousands of green recyclable bags to encourage people to recycle.

Cabrillo Credit Union, San Diego, discovered a large quantity of good condition clothing after recently changing their logo. Instead of disposing the articles of clothing into the garbage, the credit union saw an opening to help a community in need. The clothing was sent to the Goodwill of New Orleans.
