PORTLAND, Ore. — There's a new gathering place for local young credit union professionals.
The recently formed Young Credit Union Professionals of Portland is a group dedicated to uniting and educating young credit union workers.
The group was founded after Chairman Tyler Byrd from Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union and Vice-Chairman Matt Goodwin of CU Business Group discussed the lack of resources available for young credit union workers.
"We set out to create a group that would not only connect local young credit union professionals but also educate them on how to advance their careers," said Byrd.
Goodwin adds that the group hopes to "bring together young professionals for information sharing with the understanding that each individual is a necessary asset to the future of the credit union movement."
The group plans to host casual events for members focusing on career development and education each quarter. Membership is free and open to credit union industry professionals.
