HarborOne Credit Union, Brockton, Mass., announced the promotion of Leo MacNeil to senior vice president of community relations and CRA officer. MacNeil was formerly senior vice president of marketing and CRA officer. In the newly created position, MacNeil is responsible for strengthening the HarborOne branch by building or expanding partnerships within the nine communities it serves. MacNeil is working with local groups and government leaders to assess community needs and then coordinate assistance through support and volunteer efforts by HarborOne staff. MacNeil has worked for Harbor for 15 years.

South

Ascend Federal Credit Union, Tullahoma, Tenn., announced the promotion of Matt Jernigan from internal auditor to vice president of operations. In this position, Jernigan will oversee financial center operations, the consumer and student lending departments, the certificates/IRA department, support services and business continuity/disaster recovery. Also, Nancy Parker was hired as the new director of member business services. Prior to coming to Ascend, Parker was a commercial lender managing business banking portfolios in excess of $30 million.

GTE Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced that Theodore Zangwill was named senior vice president and chief lending officer. Zangwill will oversee consumer, business and mortgage lending and collections. Zangwill joins GTE from Tyndall Federal Credit Union where he was senior vice president and chief operations officer. Also, Katherine Snell was promoted to director of loss prevention and risk management. Prior to her promotion, Snell was the manager of insurance and recovery in the GTE loss prevention department. Snell started at GTE in 2004.

FedChoice Federal Credit Union, Washington, announced the appointment of Marc D. Brice as manager of the Lanham Headquarters Financial Service Center. Brice is responsible for the overall management and success of the financial service center. Brice came to FedChoice from Bank of America, where he was branch center manager for over three years. Brice has over seven years of experience in management, sales, coaching, recruitment and operations. He has also participated in and developed local educational events to help the community achieve and maintain financial stability through local outreach programs.

Five Star Credit Union, Dothan, Ala., announced the hiring of Deborah Street as mortgage director. Street has 20 years of financial industry experience and has been repeatedly awarded for her excellence in customer service. Over the years, Street has also been heavily involved in the Dothan area community through the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Dothan and as vice president of the Dothan High Tiger Club.

Midwest

Corporate Central Credit Union, Muskego, Wis., announced the hiring of Heather Paris as relationship development officer. In this role, Paris will meet with members and future members to determine their needs and provide correspondent investment and liquidity solutions. Prior to coming to Corporate Central, Paris worked at Fort Community Credit Union for five years as an assistant supervisor.

NuMark Credit Union, Joliet, Ill., announced the hiring of Michelle Balog as executive vice president. Balog has worked in banking for eight years and was in private practice for five years before coming to NuMark. Balog has been a licensed attorney since 1995 and an active adjunct faculty member for the past five years at St. Xavier University.

West

OSU Federal Credit Union, Woodburn, Ore., announced the promotion of Jenipher Miller to branch manager of the branch in the Woodburn Safeway grocery store. Miller has six years of experience in the financial institution industry and joined OSU Federal as the Woodburn branch assistant manager in 2005. Miller has volunteered for the Woodburn Relay for Life throughout her time with OSU Federal and is now the chair of the event's publicity committee. Miller replaces Nathan Wuerch who transferred to serve as branch manger of the new West Salem location.

The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced that Nicole Blanchette has been named branch manager of the Centro office. Blanchette joins The Golden 1 from a large financial institution where she served on the management team. She has eight years of experience in the financial services industry working for both banks and credit unions. Blanchette has also been supportive of community projects such as junior achievement and the YMCA literacy program.

America First Credit Union, Ogden, Utah, announced the promotion of Dustin Thomas to manager of the West Valley Wal-Mart branch. Thomas started at America First in August 2004 as a teller at the West Jordan branch. Thomas also served as a loan interviewer, lead teller and most recently as the assistant manager of the West Valley 5000 branch. Bo Rosario was named the new service center manager at the Park City branch. Rosario started working at the credit union in 1996 at the Sandy branch as a student trainee. While at the Sandy branch, Rosario worked as a teller, loan interviewer and loan officer. He also worked as the assistant manager of the Sandy branch and most recently at the Sandy 2100 branch. George Fawson was named the new service center manager of the South Jordan Harmons branch. Fawson started at the credit union as a teller in 2004 and has worked as a consumer loan officer, lead teller and assistant manager at the Sandy branch.

New Ground, St. Louis, a leading international design and implementation firm serving the financial service industry announced the appointment of Eduardo Alvarez as managing director of brand and retail strategy and Geoff Walters as managing director of national accounts. Prior to joining New Ground, Alvarez was the executive vice president of strategy and design for BrandPartners. Prior to coming to New Ground, Walters served as executive vice president of business development for BrandPartners.
