WASHINGTON — A year-end review and a rural housing loan program will be the subjects of free NAFCU sponsored interactive seminars next week.

“NAFCU's Year-End Review will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 — 5:00 p.m. EST. “Strengthening Homeownership: The Rural Development (RD) 502 Guaranteed Loan Program will be broadcasted next Thursday from 2:00 — 3:30 p.m. EST.

In the “Year-End Review,” NAFCU President Fred Becker and senior staff members will detail developments in Washington affecting credit unions, including the results of the presidential election, a look at where things stand on Capitol Hill and in the regulatory agencies. It will also focus on recent trends in compliance and operations. In addition, they will discuss the outlook for the economy and the government's response to the current liquidity crisis.

Fannie Mae Senior Business Developer George Sierra will be the featured speaker on the “Strengthening Homeownership” Webcast. He will explain how low- to moderate- income rural residents can benefit from the Rural Development 502 Guaranteed Mortgage Product. He will also provide an overview of the RD 502 loan and highlight the eligibility, underwriting and competitive issues associated with this product.
