WASHINGTON — A New Jersey Credit Union League program to help smaller credit unions has been awarded a $30,000 innovation grant from the National Credit Union Foundation. This is the 7th of 14 NCUF innovation grants this year.

The foundation's innovation grants support its real solutions program. Winning grant applications will fund initiatives in financial education, transaction services, savings, credit or home ownership, the foundation has said.

The League's small credit union task force both supports smaller credit unions and brings them perspectives and information from larger credit unions as well to use in strategic planning, according to a Foundation announcement about the grant.

“Through education, we strive to give board members and management the knowledge they need to better oversee and manage their credit unions,” explained league President Paul Gentile. “Our desire is to help boards and management work together to ultimately make each credit union a better financial institution for their members,” he added.
