WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Paul Kanjorski has cut four points off of his opponent's lead but trails by five points, according to a poll released today by Franklin & Marshall College.

Kanjorski (D-Pa.), one of the credit union movement's biggest allies in Congress, is facing a spirited challenge from Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta in the heavily Democratic 11th District, which encompasses much of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Barletta leads 40%-25%, with 24% undecided, according to the survey of 586 registered voters.
